Album Review

Once again Jesse has gone and switched genres on us. This very one happens to be an acoustic effort.  When I heard the sweeping statement from the opening line "True love springs from a heart that's been broken," from the first song "Pain Can Be A Good Thing." I knew I was in for an  honest set of great songs. The emotion of the whole song is very touching. The cello is a nice a little added bonus. Every time I hear my favorite track "Edie" I am completely
hypnotized, well until the chorus kicks in. Then I find my self frantically singing along.
The music on most of the disc evokes emotion from deep within me. Which is a nice change.
I haven't connected with a group of songs like this in quite awhile. There really isn't a
bad song in the bunch.

What an intimate affair West Coast Politics East Coast Love  is. I really appreciate how
Jesse isn't afraid to speak boldly about his faith. Sometimes when musicians speak about
spiritual matters they come off fraudulent and trite. Not Jesse, he has a unique way of
being vulnerable.

After hearing this fine effort, I am really looking forward to his next
release. This album is a nice treasure that will fit right in with my collection.
