Album Review

I first heard of Love Coma after they had already came and went.
I noticed that Mike Roe of the 77's had contributed to the project.
I've always liked his work so I thought I would check out. This album
for some odd reason is back loaded with all of the best songs at the end
of the album. I think this album would of hit me alot sooner had the
order of songs been rearranged in a better order. For example whats
probably the best song on the album "Tomorrow Takes Too Long" is the
closing track. The song has an excellent groove. The lyrics are primo,
and the mix is pretty close to being perfect on this tune. Another
song where they hit full stride is "Between He and She" Once again
this song is place towards the end. This song's guitar really hits me
over the head. It's very atmospheric without getting carried away.
It really works well with the lead singer's voice. I'm afraid the
lead singer's voice. Will be the hardest obstacle for most people
to get past. But once you get used to it it's not all that bad.

There is a subtle beauty that the band really brings home in most
of songs. Which does sometimes get lost on the upbeat fast paced songs.
I think the band would of been better off. Just releasing an album of
all mid-tempo songs. Which is by far their strength as a whole. The
album conveys a sense of peacefulness. That really makes you wonder
why this band called it quits in the first place. The hip-hop
opening of "Speak of the Devil" is quite delightful. Once again take a
guess where this song is placed on the album. The song comes to a
close with a pleasantly long guitar solo. I know This wasn't another
review telling you about the best band you've never heard of.
Rather, I hope I told you about a band you've never heard of. That
deserves some recognition for putting together a pretty darn good album.
Not great but definitely an album I'll find my self getting lost to time
and time again.
