Album Reviews
Glisten's long awaited third album is even more ambitious
and sophisticated than it’s predecessor "Starlight
Wishlist". The music is hard and crunchy and I like the
mix better. I think the only thing I would change is the
order of some of the songs. The guitars have that grungy
Soundgarden style. The album delivers its grunge
rock at full volume for the most part. The music goes past
the bounds set by their second album and reaches a higher
level of sophistication in doing so. Glisten
writes very interesting melodic and harmonic progressions.
The songs don't tend to blend into one another, making it
hard to tell one song from the next like on "Starlight
Wishlist." The weird thing is as a whole I think I
like "Starlight Wishlist" better. Sonically, compared
to that album, this one is bigger, louder and better, I
don't know. But either way it's worth getting.
