Album Reviews

Remember when there were christian bands who were completely innovative? Remember how Jyro Xhan (Mortal, Fold Zandura) was involved in many of them? Well folks, it's time. Jyro Xhan's new project Juggernautz is unleashed on an unsuspecting public! The record is very reminiscent of the Fold Zandura years, but reminds me the most of 1996's self -titled Mortal masterpiece. As a matter of fact, this could almost be the companion disc to that album. The songs here are fresh and aggressive and up tempo with lots of programming, lots of guitars, and confident , unifying vocals. This record is nearly perfect, it's got atmosphere out the ears (especially Carla Joy's haunting vocal performance on "Mandarin Sky") . Each song is it's own unique soundscape yet it all comes together like a smooth roller coaster ride. I dare say this is Jyro's greatest accomplishment to date. Yes, even greater than the mighty Mortal. Lyrically this album is blatantly christian in content and manages to never be clichr trite, fans of great music will respect it lyrically whether they agree or not. It takes me back to a time when I had hope that christian bands would continue to innovate and lead in this industry. Hope is restored. The electronic rock stylings of Juggernautz will set the bar even higher for christian and mainstream bands alike. Just like in 1996.o away.

Some say it's a worship record with vertical lyrics and simple melodies. "God’s power holds sway over time and space and He’s yesterday, today and tomorrow" Some say it’s a rock record in the vein of past projects Mortal and Fold Zandura.

"Don’t be afraid or troubled. God holds today. Don’t be afraid" Some say it’s poetry. Some say it’s energy. "Higher than the fever blue atmosphere. Farther than the throw of ultrasilver light. Wider than the stretch of the horizon. Deeper than the atom’s heart is the reach of God’s love."

Juggernautz is an electronic rock project consisting of big guitars, beats, innovative programming and sounds. Think Prodigy. Think the Chemical Brothers. That's the neighborhood. "Fade away, we fade away. If not for divine interventions sake" Think beyond what you’ve heard before. Get out of the box.

Now is the time for Juggernautz.
