Album Review
This
Wichita, Kansas band has been around
for quite sometime but this is the first that I have
heard of them. "Sleepy Head" is pretty much straight ahead rock for the
most part. In my opinion the only stand out track is "Pete's
A Rocket Scientist" The driving guitar solo that shows up
midpoint is pretty tight. On "Laughing At The Ground"
Jamie Woodson sings about laughing at the ground. For
the life of me I can't understand what is so funny about the
ground. I must say I like a lot of the
cookie cutter guitar riffs that show up through out the
record. The obnoxious guitar leads fit in well on most of
the songs. These guys aren't trying to re-invent the wheel.
Which is alright, but I always seem to keep music in my
collection that stands out in some way or another. They sound like a mixture of
the Wallflowers and Social Distortion, but not as good as
either of those bands. This album really does nothing to
want me to go back for repeated listens. Even though the
music is honest and straight ahead rock. I think a few of
your basic pop fans would really enjoy this album. If you
like loud guitars and no risk rock n' roll then this is your
bag.
