Album Review

This record seems like it was carefully crafted to take your breath away.
In some places breathtaking in others haunting and crazed. This is another
instrumental rock record that has come way way this year. And has swept me
off my feet. This is My Education's latest effort. They are a six-piece
that hails from Austin, Texas. This is the first album of theirs I have
heard. In some songs It's reminiscent of Ester Drang minus the vocals
of coarse. What I like most about it is that it's very moody. It keeps
you on the edge of your seat wondering what's coming next. It would be
impossible for "Thanksgiving" to sound anymore honest. "Polyphonic Walnuts"
has such a peaceful beginning. It really rips the insides out of you. As the
songs goes on it really gets intense and awkward making it even more appealing.
The album is hard to digest in one sitting, over time it really seeps into
your skin. While this album isn't as edgy as I would like it to be. Sometimes
too much buildup and not enough breakout. But none the less It does make for
a fine experience. The songs are epic, suspenseful, and powerful, expressing
deep fitful emotion. It's a difficult one to set aside. One that will keep
finding it's way into your cd player.
