                   Album Review

The biggest surprise about this cd is that it was put out by a new label that just happens to be a "sub-label" division of Rowe Productions, who are known primarily for their involvement in the metal scene. Well, metal this isn't. Rap-core this is! The music on here will appeal strongly to fans of bands like P.O.D. and Limp Bizkit with it's groove heavy guitars and hip-hop beats. Overall this cd has a very distinct hip-hop flavor and those looking for the harder stuff within this genre may want to steer clear of this one. While there are some very crunchy guitar tones at times the music relies more on catchy hooks and bass heavy beats. I myself am far more a metal fan than a rap-core fan but even I found a lot to love about this recording. Several tracks remind me of Limp Bizkit, only this guys voice isn't as "whiny" as Fred Durst so that was a big plus! The music is great and the choruses are catchy and no matter your musical preference you can't help but move around just a bit to this recording. So if you dig something different and modern or just want to shake things up a bit go check out 40DT!

With Limp Bizkit's claim to fame it was a matter of time for others to arise from the underground to pour from the same musical melting-pot. 40DT is such a band with the same looks and musical endeavors though I doubt if they're doing it to surf along Limp's slipstream. The first song sets the tone for the rest of the album. Feel The Funk has funky parts varied by heavier guitarwork. It's groovy and the rapping vocals fit the music well. Interesting on the heavier side of this album is There's Something Out There while there's a guest role for hiphop artist John Reuben on the mellow track Extra Terrestial. The last two songs on the album and the bonus track are quite out of line. The bonus track for example, is like an attempt to sound like Stryper. Forty Days Tempted is a very nice debut though the band should work on their own musical identity
